Birth:
He was born on the 19th of October 1761 in the village Neu St. Jürgen in the Worpswede parish near Bremen. His parents were Johann and Metje Lütjen. (C2)
Childhood:
He grew up in the nearby Hüttenbusch and later in Neu St. Jürgen. (C1, C2)
Work:
He was a cottager (German: Häuerling) in Hüttendorf, which is also in the Worpswede parish, from 1784 until about 1788. Then, when he was 27 years old, he bought a farm (German Kätner) in the village Mevenstedt, which is also in the Worpswede parish. (C2)
Marriage:
He married the single Gretje Bellmann from Neu St. Jürgen on the 29th of April 1784 in the church in Worpswede. (C2)
They raised a family in Hüttendorf and later Mevenstedt. (C2)
Death:
In 1814, when he was 53 years old, he burnt his arm. He went to Bremen to get some help, but died there on the 26th of November 1814. He was buried in the cemetery in Worpswede four days later. (C2)
Other Information:
1. Another Johann Lütjen married Ahlke Kücks on the 21/5/1762 in Worpswede. They lived in Hüttenbusch until at least 1773. They had two children named Johann. One was born in November 1768 and died on the 13/2/1769. Another was born on the 3/8/1770 and died on the 2/11/1791. This family cannot be my ancestors.
2. Another Johann Lütjen was married with a woman named Ahlheit. They lived in Neu St. Jürgen. His wife gave birth to a son named Dierk on the 22/8/1755. They did not have any more children recorded in the original Scharmbeck church books from 1756 to 1759 nor in the original Worpswede church books from 1759 to 1765, inclusive. The parents' death is not recorded in the original Scharmbeck books from 1754 until 1760 nor in the original Worpswede books from 1759 to 1765, inclusive. This family cannot be my ancestors either.
