He was born on the 3rd of February 1747 in the village Barl in the Rahden parish in North Rhine - Westphalia in Germany. His parents were Johann Henrich and Anne Maria Elisabeth Stratemann. (F4)

Then it had a post office, a court, a registry, an administrative office of the railways, a Lutheran church, gas works, some bank branches, wool, horse, live stock and general markets, timber and leather merchants, cement, margarine and cigar factories, textile dyers, a tannery, a dairy, flour mills and saw mills. He was a cottager (German: Heuerling) in the village Wehrbleck. In the list of cottagers in 1786 from Wehrbleck he is listed as No. 4 of a total of 20 (from the "Hann. 74 Sulingen Nr. 33" document in the civic archive in Hannover).
Marriage:
He married the widow Anna Adelheit Diekkrüger from the village Wehrbleck, which is in the Varrel parish in Lower Saxony, on the 19th of November 1773 in the Lutheran church in Varrel. (F3)
They lived in Wehrbleck until about 1790. Then they moved to the nearby village Buchhorst. About 1810, after his wife died, he moved to the nearby village Strange. (F3)
Death:
He died on the 2nd of April 1815 in Strange in the Varrel parish. He was a 68 years old widower. He was buried in the cemetery in Varrel three days later. (F3)
