Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise, June 12, 2003: David J. Griggs David James Griggs, 14, son of David and Janet Griggs of Bartlesville,died at 7:49 P.M. Tuesday at the Jane Phillips Medical Center. Funeral services for David will be held at 2:00 P..M. Friday in theStumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Tidwell of theBartlesville Baptist Temple officiating. Interment will be in theDewey Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the Bartlesville Baptist Temple,3333 East Tuxedo Blvd., Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74006. David James Griggs was born on December 2, 1988 in Tulsa to DavidThomas and Janet Sue (Larison) Griggs. He was a lifetime resident ofBartlesville and had attended the Tyro Christian School at Tyro,Kansas and home schooled for two years. He was active in basketballwith Upwards Basketball with the First Baptist Church in Bartlesvilleand active in riding horses and was a member of the BartlesvilleRoundup Club play days. He was a member of the Bartlesville BaptistTemple and active in the children's church and bus ministries. Survivors include his parents, David and Janet Griggs of Bartlesville,four sisters, Shauna Griggs, Sarah Griggs, Samantha Griggs, and StacyGriggs all of Bartlesville, his maternal grandmother, Margaret Larisonof Bartlesville, his paternal great grandmother, Clover Cummings ofBartlesville, and several aunts and uncles including, Sandra Breese,Pam Griggs, Kathy and Rick Ennis, Alice Griggs, Tommy and Lisa Griggsall of Bartlesville, Teri Griggs of Arkansas, Anita and David Harrisof Richmond, Texas, Ken Larison, Greg and Sally Larison, ofBartlesville, and Susan Larison of Katy Texas and several cousins.
