This family did not immigrate. During the Stalin era and World War II,Adolph was sent to the northern part of Siberia, and his wife and twokids were sent to the south. The other children were separated fromboth of their parents. The children and their mother found each othervia newpaper ads and Adolph escaped; they were all together except forAdolph Jr., who had been sent to work in the coal mines and returnedsick with Black Lung. Karmen Rowe's grandfather corresponded with Adolph's daughter-in-law,who furnished this information.
