Nicolaus NEUHARDT

Biography Nicolaus served about 10 years as a Rumbach church elder (1664 - 1674)which was his station in 1673. It appears that Nicolaus Neuhart diedin the autumn of 1674 leaving children ages 5 through 19 at home withthe impoverished widow. In 1679 and 1680, the tax records state thatshe was widowed. Descendants The sons of Nicolaus Neuhart (abt 1629 - 1674) all immigrated fromRumbach and established several different Neuhart lines around theworld. The six sons and the clans they established are as follows: George: Ancestor of French Neuharts in Climbach/Bas Rhin, Russia,Nothweiler, and New York, including the TV Comedian, Bob Newhart.Note: This individual cannot be a child of Nicolaus and AnnaCatharina, as his stated birth date is in 1716, long after this couplehad died. It is possible he is a grandchild, or more likely agreat-grandchild of this couple. Hans Philipp: Ancestor of Nebraska, Ohio and about one third of thePennsylvania Newhards. Hans Adam: Ancestor of Nebraska, Ohio and South Dakota Neuharts. Hans Christoph: Ancestor of Nebraska and about two thirds of thePennsylvania Newhards. Hans Valentine: Ancestor of French Neuharts of Steinseltz/Bas Rhin. Hans Jacob: Ancestor of French Neuharts of Sulz/Bas Rhin, Russia andthe Dakotas.
