Fernán González (* 932; † 970) war der erste von León unabhängige Graf Kastiliens.
Zahlreiche Überlieferungen, die Fernán González betreffen, zeigen sagenhafte Züge. Gesichert ist aber, dass er Kastilien, das nach der Reconquista in zahlreiche kleinere Fürstentümer zerfallen war, in der Mitte des 10. Jahrhunderts unter seiner Herrschaft vereinigte. Zur Unabhängigkeit kam es aber erst nach dem Tod seines Schwagers, König Ramiros II. von Léon um 950. Es folgte eine Phase des Bürgerkriegs in dem Königreich sowie der Angriffe durch das Kalifat von Córdoba, in deren Wirren Fernán González seine eigene Macht ausbaute.
