Patrick, I found some of my Gronbach family in your family tree on Geneanet and I'm wondering where you got some of your information. Are you are in Germany?
My ancestor who came to the US is Johann Jacob Gronbach, b. 1 April 1828 in Ruppertshofen, Württemberg, Germany. He married Rosina Bolz 10 December 1854 in LaSalle County, Illinois, USA. They had 3 sons before Johann Jacob fought in the CivilWar. His sons were John Jacob b. 5 May 1858, Georg Herman Henry b. 10 Dec 1860 and Henry G. b. 5 April 1864. Johann Jacob was discharged from a hospital ship in Louisville, Kentucky 13 July 1865 with frozen feet and cancer of the mouth. He died in Peru, LaSalle County, Illinois, USA 31 January 1867. His son Georg Herman Henry Gronbach was my mother's grandfather. He was a veterinarian and cared for the mules and horses of a local coal mine in Seatonville, Bureau County, Illinois. Hefarmed and my family still farm his land. There is also a family story that he had a pet fox that road with him when he made his rounds around the countryside to care for farm animals. Any information that you can share with me on his family inGermany would be greatly appreciated. I did get some information from the church in Ruppertshofen that has that he and his sister Anna Christina Sophia Gronbach went to America. That document has htat their parents were Johann Michael Gronbachand Christina Barbara Leidig.
