Reinhard O. "Reiny" Heidemann, 87, formerly of Nicollet died Thursday, August 19, 1999 at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet with burial in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Barb and Win Vatthauer of Belle Plaine, Rhonda Halvorson of Redwood Falls; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sisters and brother in law, Ruth and Glen Meyer of Mankato, Carol Heidemann of
Calumet City, Ill.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Doris Heidemann of Estell Springs, Tenn., Donald "Bud" and Averill Heidemann of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Erna in 1991; step-mothers, Eleanora Stolt Heidemann and Nellie Nothwehr Heidemann.
He was born on Sept. 27, 1911 in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County to Henry and Viola (Freitag) Heidemann. He married Erna Bode July 30, 1939 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Courtland Township, Nicollet County. After marriage they lived in
Nicollet. He had been employed as a Automobile Mechanic at the Nicollet Garage, as a Custodian at the Nicollet Public School, and a Machinery Mechanic at Zins Implement in Nicollet. He had owned and operated the DX Gas Station in Nicollet and
had been a Maintenance Man for the Martin Luther College in New Ulm until he retired in 1987. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet and had held various church offices. He had volunteered at Trinity Evangelical
Lutheran Church and had also volunteered at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.
