Amanda Doris Behm, 98, of Belview and formerly of Wood Lake passed away Saturday September 18, 2004 at the Parkview Nursing Home in Belview. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Posen Township with
burial in the church cemetery. Kulow Funeral Services - Redwood Valley Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Amanda Doris Behm was born January 8, 1906 in Nicollet to August and Emma (Fitzner) Bode. She was baptized at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Courtland and confirmed in Peace Lutheran Church at Echo.

As a young lady, Amanda was employed for many years at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis. She then worked as a full time housekeeper at a home in Faribault. Amanda also lived with her brother, Harold Bode, who was serving as a pastor at Grey
Bull, Wyo. On September 1, 1940 married Carl Behm at St. Luke's Lutheran church in Posen Township. Amanda and Carl farmed Carl's family farm in Posen Township until retiring in 1978. After living in their country home in Posen for 18 years,
they moved to a home in Wood Lake at the age of 90. They moved to Assisted Living in Belview in 2000. Amanda's health began to fail in November 2003 and she was admitted to the Parkview Nursing Home in Belview.

Amanda and Carl traveled extensively, especially enjoying a trip to the Holy Land and camping at many parks throughout Minnesota. Amanda loved flowers, fishing, gardening, knitting, crocheting, quilting, canning, cooking and baking. She loved
her many nephews and nieces, knowing all their names, where they lived and what they were doing. Amanda was an active Ladies Aid member and also sang in the St. Luke's mixed choir.

She is survived by her brother Ezra Bode and wife Renetta of Wood Lake; sister Lois Milbradt and husband Hamlin of Mesa, Ariz.; brother August Bode of Fairfield Bay, Ark.; and sisters-in-law Lydia Bode of Wood Lake and Bernice Bode of Glencoe;
