Als Vater des Niclaus Hofferberth vermutet, weil er mit dem Namen Hofferberth in Höchst 1542 bei der sogenannten Türkenschatzung genannt wurde (HFK 16,6 S 332). 1554 ist er dann in Mümling-Grumbach notiert worden (HFK 18,6 S. 359) 1566 war er genannt als Kirchenpfleger der "Capelle von Grumpach" und als Zahler von Ackerzins an die Kirche in Höchst evtl. als Pächter eines Klosterhofgutes in Mümling-Grumbach (Darmstädter Echo v. 10.4.1982 S. 25)
