Notes for this person
Sir Thomas Greene, also knighted on the field of battle, ten years after his father was knighted. When Henry VII obtained the kingdom over his enemies, he hated the very name of Greene. He threw the last Sir Thomas into prison, in the Tower, where he died, and Sir Thomas' second son, John, had to flee for his life. It might be interesting to add here that Henry VII's son, Henry VIII, married as his sixth and last wife Lady Catherine of Parr, a daughter of the House of Greene, and she was the only one of Henry's wives to survive the ordeal!
