Lieutnant zu Pferde im Dienst des Großen Kurfürsten
In der St. Petri-Kirche zu Soest war auf dem Grabstein des Johann Eberhard Möllenhoff und seiner Frau, Elisabeth von Brandis das Ehewappen Möllenhoff - von Brandis eingemeißelt. Die Umschrift lautete: Anno 1708 den 4. April ist die hochedle FrauElsabe Brandis, Wittwe des edlen und mannhaften Leutnante zu Pferde Johann Eberhard Möllenhoff selig verstorben. Das Wappen zeigt zwei mit dem Rücken fast aneinander stoßende Halbmonde mit Gesicht. (Quelle: Auskunft des Stadtarchivs Soest, zitiert in einem Internetforum von Robert Neitzel)
