In den lutherischen Kirchenbüchern, die ab 1640 geführt wurden, war auch der Schultheiß Ebert Faul genannt, der um 1635 Pirmasens wegen des Krieges verließ und sich erst 1640 wieder zurückwagte.

Faul, Diebold:

1657, 1658 und auch 1659 wird als Müller in „Simpten“ der Diebold Faul erwähnt (vgl. Siegl: Ortssippenbuch Pirmasens I, a.a.O., S. 11-12). Er ist wohl Müller in Winzeln gewesen (err.); er wird bei seiner Tochter Agathe als „Müller“ angegeben; °° mit Barbara Mattern, Wwe. von Hanß Jacob Claß in Winzeln; Vater der Agathe Faul (~ luth. 22.7.1644 Pirmasens; † 14.12.1686 Winzeln; °° 24.2.1674 in Pirmasens mit Christian Bohrer (geb. 1639 Saanen/Bern, Sohn von Peter Bohrer aus Saanen und Anna Annen) (vgl. Ebert Faul (born in Pirmasens ? Germany), Lutheran, was a inn-keeper, a court official for the Hanau-Lichtenberg area and a village magistrate or mayor at Pirmasen's. On 9 May 1642 Ebert Faul, Vollmar Faul of Pirmasen's single son and Barbara Matern. Nickel Stephen's widow from Winzeln "announced their engagement ?". They were married on 30 May 1642 in Pirmasens. Barbara died before 1659 and Ebert remarried.

Eberhard Faul and Anna Anstatts of Heltersberg, legitimate daughter of Hans Jacob Anstatts were married on 25 May 1659 at Pirmasens. Eberhard is said in the marriage record to be an innkeepr and magistrate in Pirmasens. Eberhard died on 15 January 1687 at Pirmasens when 71 years old. Anna died on 12 May 1688 at Pirmasens form dropsy after being ill for 22 weeks.

Ebert/Eberhard Faul had an inn before he took his family to Holland in exile for the ten year period between 1646 and 1656. During that time, many of the villiages in the area were destroyed His inn was among the casualties. Whe he returned from exile, he found that a Beech tree had taken root in the hearthstone of his inn and had grown halfway up the chimney. A hand drawn map of Pirmasens from that time shows Ebert Faul as having three plots in the city.

  6. Hans Georg Faul b. 3 October 1669 aat Pirmasens - married Maria Magdalena Weber.

  7. Adam Georg Faul b. 20 November 1671, married Maria Ursula at Pirmasens.

  8. Anna Ottilia Faul - baptized 6 June 1675 at Pirmasens. Sponsors: Arbogast Glass; Anna Katherina, the wife of the Lutheran pastor, Georg Otto, and Anna Ottilia, the daughter of Pastor Adam Pantzer of Herschberg.

  9. Maria Eva Faul - b. 25 January 1679 at Pirmasens - m. (1) George William Weber (2) Daniel Daunhuer Sponsors: Jacob Heilbronn of Donsieders, shoemaker; Eva the wife of Hans Peter Hoh of Hoheinod, and Anna Maria, the wife of Balzer Lang, weaver of Vinningen, all Lutheran.

  10. Hans Peter Faul b. 27 November 1680 at Pirmasens - Sponsors: Hans Peter Hohe of Hoheinod; Arbogast Glass the innkeeper and shopkeeper of Leinsweiler, former bellringer of Pirmasens, and Margaretha Appolonia, the wife of Hans Adam Anstet, shoemaker of Clausen.
