War 1954 Maikönig der Maigesellschaft Merode
Ihm wurde nach der Nacht- Fußwallfahrt zur "Schmerzhaften Mutter" nach Heimbach in der Kirche von Heimbach unwohl. Er verließ daraufhin die Kirche und setze sich auf eine sich davor befindliche Mauer von der er einige Meter tief hinunter fiel und verstarb.
