Funeral services for William Borneman, who died yesterday afternoon, Jan. 7, 1908, will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home of Herman F. Borneman, Sr., 615 Marion street, Elkhart, Ind. Friends wishing to view the remains will call previous to 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Grace Lawn. Herman F. Borneman, Sr., was the only child of the deceased and there are no relatives in this country outside of Elkhart. Mr. Borneman was born in Allstedt, Grand Dukedom of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, Germany, in 1827. In 1868, with his wife and son, he came to America, settling in Monroe, Mich. In 1876, he moved to Elkhart. Mrs. Borneman died twenty-six years ago. Mr. Borneman was a genial and agreeable man. Nearly thirty years ago he retired from work as a mason and since then had been known to the people of the city as a friend of children and a companionable man at all times. He was stricken with apoplexy in 1900 and had sustained several milder attacks since. Last week the final stroke overcame him. Elkhart Truth Born during the final year of the reign of Grand Duke Charles Augustus (Carl August) Wettin of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach.
