Farley Elma Marie Farley February 3, 1920 - March 26, 2015 Elma Marie Basham Farley, 95 of Spanishburg, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from natural causes. She was born February 3, 1920 in Lashmeet; she was the daughter of the late Albert & Doshia Bailey Basham. She was the youngest in her family and was preceded in death by five brothers, Erie, Edgar, Earl, Emmett & Everett Basham and two sisters, Edie Basham Norfleet and Eva Basham French. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Malcolm B. Farley along with three children who died in infancy. Elma will long be remembered by many of the Students who attended Spanishburg Schools, where she served as a cook for more than 20 years. Elma was an avid gardener. She loved working the soil to bring forth beauty and goodness. Her fun-loving side enjoyed bowling and bingo. But nothing pleased her more than to have her family gathered around the kitchen table to enjoy a meal together. Mrs. Farley leaves behind her devoted children- son Larry Farley & wife Sandra of Princeton, her son Danny Farley & wife Jana of Lerona, and her daughter Pamela Farley Walker of Houston, Texas. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren, a large extended family and many loving friends. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to her extended family, who shared her with love and care while at the Phillips Care Home and Serenity Place. A service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 30, 2015 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Ralph Calfee officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home.
