Norma C. Benn
Norma C. Benn (Nee Eberhart), age 78, of Manhattan, IL, died peacefully on Monday, December 21, 2009, at Sunny Hill Nursing Home, Joliet.
She is survived by her son, John D. Benn of Springfield, her daughter, Kathleen Benn of Manhattan, her sister, Glenna Jean Eneix of Joliet, her brother, Welton "Dutch" (Clarissa) Eberhart, Diamondhead, MS, her brother-in-law, Ray (Nell) Benn of Carthage, IL, her special friend, Debbie Briske, and several very special nephews and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, John T. Benn (1992), her parents, John and Louise (Nee Mundt) Eberhart and beloved Tabby.
She was always proud to be born and raised a lifelong resident of Manhattan. She attended Peotone High School, Class of 1949, and was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, teaching Sunday school for over 35 years and singing in the Choir for most of her life. In life she was most happy taking care of her family, singing and attending St. Paul's, caring for her pets, and watching the Cubs.
Norma Benn will lie in state on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 140 S. Thelma Street, Manhattan, from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00A.M. with Rev. Carol Currier-Frighetto officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4:00-7:00P.M. at Forsythe Funeral Home, Manhattan.
Interment Wilton Center Cemetery.
