Mrs. Diedrich (Caroline) Brockman, 85, of Salisbury died Wednesday, July 27 at Chastain's Nursing Home in Marceline, where she had resided since May, after a lengthy illness.
One of four children, she was the former Caroline Ruth Tatsch and was born August 9, 1891 at Mendon, the daughter of Phillip and Laura Alice Feaker Tatsch. She graduated from Grubb School near Mendon and at an early age, she became a member of the Lutheran Church.
On January 30, 1910 she married Diedrich Adwin Brockman with the Rev. Carter DeWeese officiating at the ceremony at Mendon. They were the parents of four children, Fredrich William, Gladys Marie, Ruby Alberta and Ora Lee.
Mrs. Brockman is survived by her children, F. William Brockman of Beardstown, Illinois, Marie Durham, Cambridge, Minnesota, Ruby Kahler and Ora Lee Linneman, Salisbury; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Augusta Scheulen and Charlotte Hess, one brother, Phillip Tatsch and one grandson, Herbert Lee Linneman.
After a brief prayer service at the Berry Funeral Home, funeral services were held Friday, July 29 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Paul Feiertag was in charge of the 2:00 service.
Miss Tracey Harmon was vocalist and Mrs. Oswald Kothe, organist.
Pallbearers were Gerald Linneman, Richard Gesling, Oswald Kothe, Henry Klaus, Everett Bliefnick and Paul Carter.
Burial was in the Brunswick City Cemetery.
