Mrs. Sophie Neidholdt, beloved wife of Philip Neidholdt, died very suddenly at her home in this city Tuesday morning May 25. She was 39 years, 7 months, and 15 days old.
Two weeks ago today, Friday, a little son was born to Mrs Neidholdt, notice of which was published in last week's Brunswicker. She had recovered sufficiently to leave her bed, though it is said her condition had not been satisfactory to her physician since the birth of the little boy.
She was up, moving about the house Tuesday morning, shortly before noon, when she was taken suddenly and violently ill. Neighbors were notified and a messenger hurried for a physician, but before assistance reached her she had passed beyond help. She died within five minutes after the attack siezed her. Her death was due to a blood-clot in the circulation, which lodged in the brain.
Mrs. Neidholdt's name in girlhood was Brockman. She was born in Eydelstat, Germany, October 1869, and came with her parents to America in 1889, settling near Brunswick. Besides her husband and the little babe born two weeks ago, she leaves her aged parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at two o'clock, by Rev. F. G. Walther of the Lutheran church, followed by interment in the Lower Cemetery.
To the bereaved husband, the motherless babe and other sorrowing ones our most sincere sympathies are extended.
