"Homer S. Brockman Jr.

Virginia Beach - Homer Sanford Brockman Jr., 78, formerly of

Greer, S.C., went to be with the Lord Dec. 20, 2001, in his

residence. He was a graduate of California State Teachers

College where he also did graduate work. A retired commander

in the U.S. Navy, he also retired from the City of Virginia Beach

Public Schools as an assistant principal. He was a member of

the Retired Officers Association and a Senior Elder for Rock

Church. Homer was predeceased by his parents, Homer S. Sr.

and Mary Earle Hunt Brockman of Greer, S.C.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Abercrombie

Brockman; four children, James S. Brockman of Virginia Beach,

Paul B. Brockman and wife Theresa of Zuni, William H. Brockman

and wife Karen, Virginia Beach and Dana Lee and husband Bruce

of Chesapeake; a sister Mitzi Tzouvelekas and husband Tom of

Greenville, S.C.; and eight grandchildren, Jennifer L., William, Jr.,

David, Samuel and Joseph Brockman, Stephanie, Andrew and

Micah Lee. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in

Rock Church by Bishop John Gimenez, the Rev. Anne Gimenez

and the Rev. Bruce Lee. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations

may be made to the Rock Church Building Fund, 640 Kempsville

Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464 or the American Cancer Society,

2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, VA 23513."
