Thomas Patterson BROCKMAN

1. He was engaged in the merchantile business his whole life and

was also a large planter and slave owner. He settled on the Enoree

River between Greenville and Woodruff, SC.

2. For many years he was a militia officer and commanded the lower

regiment of Greenville District, SC.

3. He was a member of the SC Conventions of 1832 and 1852 and,

for a long time, was a member of the SC House of Representatives

and Senate.

4. He was a deacon of the Baptist Church.

5. Pictures of Col. Thomas Patterson Brockman and his wife, Mary

Kilgore Brockman, are found in the Brockman Scrapbook right

after page 252.

6. Was his year of birth 1793 (Brockman Scrapbook, page 269)?

7. Have also seen the site of his burial as being near Anderson's

Bridge, Greenville District, SC. (Rob Salzman information at

8. Was there another son by the name of Josiah T. Brockman who

was born and died on 9 Nov 1828, Greenville co., SC? Also, John

B. Brockman born 18 Aug 1830 and died 5 Jan 1831. These were
