1. This is probably the Alfred Brockman who married Sarah C. Morris
on 11 Sep 1877 in Bates co., MO and, after her death, married
Ora E.

(Fuller) Brockman and these were also the names of his parents in
the 1860 and 1870 census enumerations.
Nevada Daily Mail of 9 May 1893: "IT WAS VERY SERIOUS
SPORT A Wife's Playful Act Comes Near Causing a Husbands
Death. A wife's playful toss of a pair of scissors Monday afternoon
came near causing her husband's death. Mr. and Mrs. A.M.
Brockman were at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Akers' late
Monday afternoon. They were in a playful mood and while Mr.
Brockman was teasing his wife, she carelessly tossed a pair of
scissors at him. The struck him on (the) inner side of the left knee
and the point penetrated the flesh so far that it bore the weight of
the shears and he had to pull them from their lodging place. This
broke up the sport and but little was thought of the matter. Mr.
Brockman soon went to his stable, near the depot, and later took
his wife driving. He then came up town to attend business which
demanded his attentiion, and while up in the city about 9 o'clock in
the evening the wound became very painful and he was taken with
a chill. He was driven to his home in the northeast part of town and
Dr. Kelso was hastily summoned. When Dr. Kelso arrived at Mr.
Brockman's bedside he found his patient delirious from pain and on
the border of going into lockjaw. The wound, though only a small
cut on the inner side of the left knee, and caused considerable
swelling. Remedies were at once administered and before the
Doctor left Mr. Brockman was fully restored to consciousness,
though his condition was quite serious and it is not known yet what
the outcome may be, though he was reported better today."
4. In 1910 he was a building contractor.
5. Was he training horses in 1920? The census shows that he was
"training and working out."
6. In 1930 he and Ora were living with his son, Edward, in Lynwood,
CA.
