Bei dem in der Volkszählung 1895 in Minnesota genannten Franz Brockmann könnte es sich ebenfalls um einen Auswanderer aus Merlsheim handeln. In alten Unterlagen taucht dieser Name ab 1737 auf. Die Familie hatte bis etwa 1860 im Haus Nr. 1, jetzt Alter Kirchweg Nr. 10 gewohnt. Brockmann wurde als Zimmermann erwähnt.

Als noch kein Schulhaus existierte wurde laut der alten Schulchronik „im Brockmannschen Haus Unterricht erteilt“. Es könnte sein, so Blume, dass die Familie um 1860 auswanderte.
