Ab dem 7. Lebensjahr 3 Jahre lang Hausunterricht, 10-jährig 3 Jahre Besuch der Lateinschulen in Schönfließ/Neumark und in Königsberg/Neumark, 1715 Besuch des Gymnasiums in Stargard. Am 23.04.1720 an der Universität Halle immatrikuliert, Theologiestudium. Oktober 1723 August 1724 Informator am Pädagogium in Halle. 1724 in Kopenhagen ordiniert und als Missionar nach Tranquebar, 1740 aus gesundheitlichen Gründen wieder in Kopenhagen. 1741 über Halle nach Dresden.
Brüder: Jacob Walther, Gottfried Samuel Walther.
Halbschwester: Charlotta Concordia Schmidt.
Am 21.12.1728 Heirat mit Anna Christina Brochmann.
Söhne: Johann Buchart, Jacob Theodosius, Christoph Samuel und Peter Christian Walther.
Tochter: Dorothea Christina Walther.
