Funeral services for Cecilia Polley were held Tuesday, January 8, 1985 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in McIntosh at 2 p.m. Rev. Michael Petri officiated and the Reese Hoialmen Funeral Home of McIntosh was in charge of arrangements.
Harriet Cecilia Margaret Diercks Polley was born August 17, 1901 to parents Kurt and Margaret Diercks at Goodhue, Minnesota. She was baptized September 15, 1901 and confirmed May 31, 1915 at St. John's Lutheran Church.
Cecilia was united in marriage to William Polley December 23, 1918 at Goodhue by Rev. G. Hinnenthal. They came to the Fosston-McIntosh area where they have since resided. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Polley passed away Friday, January 4, 1985 at the McIntosh Manor Nursing Home at the age of 83 years.
Survivors include six children, Rev. Laverne Polley of Decatur, Indiana, Rev. Victor Polley of Leavenworth, Kansas, Ruth, Mrs. H.C. Mueller of Hoagland, Indiana, Marlene, Mrs. Roland Habedank of McIntosh, Merrill Polley of Dallas, Texas and Gerald Polley of Pelican Rapids, 26 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Henrietta Firl of Red Wing, three brothers, Alvin and Kermit Diercks of Goodhue and Willis Diercks of Red Wing and several nieces and nephews. She was precededin death by her parents, her husband, William, one daughter, Wilma and two sons, Lyle and Howard.
Mrs. Robert Tangen was the organist. Casket bearers were all nephews, Curtis Bartz, Bernard Schultz, John Polley, Clifford Bartz, Henry Bartz, D.J. Hegland.
