vom 16.4.1843 bis 30.12.1848 in Dahme bei der Handlung I.G. Unverdorben in Dahme, erst als Lehrling, später als Commis und vom 8.1. bis 7.8.1850.als Buchhalter tätig. Weinhandel in Jüterbog und Leipzig, 1856 stellte er ein Bürgerrechtsgesuch und ein Aufnahmegesuch = Gesuch um den Erhalt der sächsischen Staatsangehörigkeit an die Stadt Leipzig. Begründer der Firma Heffter & Hoffmann, Großhandel; Er war Alleinvertreter von ungarischen Weinen für Deutschland und Nachbarstaaten. Vom 2.1.1873 bis zu seinem Tod war er für die Klasse der unangesessenen Leipziger Einwohner Leipziger Stadtverordneter.
