Die Negrone kommen aus Lucarno, ein Ort oberhalb des Comer Sees; von Guglielmo, dem Sohn des Negrone stammt der Name und sie kamen nach Genua 1130; dieser Familie schlossen sich alle an, die mit den Familien Crespini, Cavardo und Moro verwandt waren, sodaß sie alle Negroni hießen. (nach Roccatagliata, Historiker der Republik Ligurien) 1153 wurde Oberto di Negrone Konsul von Genua, 1528 eine der 28 Familien, die die Adelshäuser bildeten, nach der Reform des Andrea Doria.
