Gesandter nach Rom. 886/898 Graf v.Soissons und Abt von S.Crepin, 888/889 Graf v.Meaux und Madrie, 896 Graf v.V; Werner. erwähnt 877-893, Im Ringen zwischen Karl dem Einfältigen und Herzog Odo v.Franzien um den französischen Thron stand er erst auf Karls Seite, verliess ihn aber aus unbekanntem Grunde. Durch den Abfall hatte er Rudolf Graf v. Cambrai gegen sich, der St.Quentin und Peronne erobert, den er aber später tötete. Balduin II. v.Flandern, dessen Bruder, hat Heribert aus Blutrache ermorden lassen;
