besuchte das Graue Kloster in Berlin, erlernte die Landwirtschaft bei Ökonomierat Koppe in der Lausitz, war Inspektor, 1845 Administrator bei Graf von Levetzow in Groß-Markow bei Teterow in Meckl. dann Oberinspektor über 7 Güter beim Grafen von Plessen in Ivenack. Einige Jahre bewirtschaftete er das erworbene Gut Carlshof in Meckl., verkaufte es aber wieder, da er die vom Vorbesitzer unsachgemäß bewirtschafteten und verbrauchten Äcker nicht mit gewünschtem Erfolg ertragfähiger zu machen vermochte.
