Notes for this person
Parents: Hans Jacob and Catheryn Sahn Dencklau. Spouse: Lena Groeteke, they married 2-27-1877 by B. Finger, a Justice of the Peace Judge, in Davenport, Iowa. His brother, Nicklous was a witness. Known as Fritz or Fred. Information found at the Davenport Public Library, Davenport, Iowa on October 24, 1996. I saw the tombstone at the Colfax Township Cemetery, Duncombe, Iowa 4-16-1998. Recd baptism record from Paul Dencklau 3-18-2000. 3448 Denklau, Fritz Groteke, Lena 27 Feb 1877 by B. Finger, J. P. Witness: Nickolaus Denklau. Immigration info from Paul Dencklau via email dated 4-27-2006; actual immigration document recd. He came to the US from Germany with brother Matthias.
