Obituary

 

George Wayerski

 

George Wayerski, 76, 5425 N. Claret Drive, died Monday morning, Nov. 15, 1993, at St. Michael's Hospital. He was a patient at the hospital since Saturday.

 

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Junction City. The Rev. John Wisneski will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

 

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday and again until the time of services Friday at the Martens/Kundinger Funeral Home, Junction City. A parish rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

 

Mr. Wayerski was born Aug. 22, 1917, in the town of Eau Pleine, a son of Rose (Ruka) Wayerski, Stevens Point, and the late Frank Wayerski. He attended Junction City schools.

 

He was married to Eleanore M. Larek on May 5, 1945, at St. Joseph Basilica, Milwaukee. She survives.

Mr. Wayerski farmed in the Junction City area, later gaining employment with Wisconsin Electric as a lineman in Milwaukee. He returned to Junction City and farmed until his 1985 retirement.

 

He served in the U. S. Coastal Guard during World War II.

 

He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and a former member of St. Michael's Church.

 

Survivors besides his wife and mother include one daughter, Susan (Daniel) Dake, Appleton; one son, Jerome, Junction City; seven sisters, Adeline (Henry) Asik, Margaret (Ben) Wojtalewicz, Mary Ann Wojtalewicz, Theresa (Norbert) Strojny, Rosalie (Jerry) Rice, and Delores (Ervin) Mews, all of Stevens Point, and Lillian Brezinski, Milwaukee; three brothers, John (Irene), Stevens Point, Robert (Bernadine), Mosinee, and James (Regina), Rudolph; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

 

He was preceded in death by one daughter, one son and one brother.
