Richard Gould resided in Bovington and Stoke Mandeville, and his will, dated April 25, 1531, proved October 11, 1531, and that of his wife, Joan Goide, dated Jan. 12,1536-7, proved February 7,1586-7 are both in the registry of Peterborough. In Bovingdon church, south side aisle of the nave was a brass tablet with the inscription: "Of your charite pray for the soul of Rychard Gold and Joan his wife, which Ric. decessed ye xxix day of August, an 1531, whos soul Jehu pardon."

The Family of Parker-Whittier, by Pa

RICHARD GOULD, of Bovingdon, was the second son of Thomas, above named, and his wife was likewise named Joan. He was born, apparently, not later than 1478, and died in 1531; his will being dated August 25th and proved October 11th of that year. His widow died in 1537.
