Johann Georg BRENNER

Karteikarte 1664/4 Gr.-Um. 1680 Curtischer Hofmann in Groß Umstadt, 1689 Müller in Haybach(Heubach). Er tauschte später die Mühle zu Spachbrücken mit Johann Jost Spieß Witwe gegen die Harpertshäuser Mühle, ab 1692 war er Müller zu Harpertshausen. Tauschvertrag: "zwischen Meister Georg Brenner, Müller zu Spachbrücken ahn Einem un der Margaretha Elisabetha, weiland Johann Jost Spießen nach gelassene Wittib zu Harpertshausen anderen theils " Johann Georg Brenner übernimmt die Mühle samt Zubehör nebst 10 Morgen Äcker und einem Stück Wiesen. 4 Morgen der Distelacker genannt wird. -------------------------------- Johann Georg was reputed to be a wagoner and a beer brewer in Gross Umstadt. (Source:Peggy McKenzie) Due to an exchange of properties in 1692, Georg Brenner became the first of the Brenner family to operate the (Stadthäuser Mühle) mill at Harpertshausen as an entailed estate (hereditery tenure). He and his descendants may operate the mill in perpetuity as long as they fulfill all the terms of the lease agreement. In an official contract, the terms of the lease are documented giving the size of the property (approx. estimate 30-acre farmland and meadows) as well as the annual rent, which was in the form of grain to be delivered to the owner, Count Philips Reinhard of Hanau.
