Anna Bower was born in Bart Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to Benjamin Bower and Mary Brewster. Sometime before 1829, she married George Rockey. The couple had six known children, four sons and two daughters. Her husband died in 1842, when their youngest child was only two years old. She remained living there near her parents until sometime in the mid 1850s, when she moved with her children (two of them married) to Minneapolis, Minnesota. She lived there the rest of her life and died March 18, 1887.
