Philip Ruhl b 4/28/1790 Lancaster County, PA d 4/10/1871 or 1879, buried in Dreisbach Church Cemetery m 1818 Sarah Smith b 1796, daughter of Dr. James Smith, a physician in Mifflinburg, and his wife Catherine Brobst {Ruhl Genealogy by Israel T. Ruhl}. Philip was the Union County Representative to the State Legislature in 1829, 1830, and 1831, and two of these sessions were in the company of Ner Middleswarth of Snyder County. He also served in 1855 as an Associate Justice of County Courts. {Trail of History, Mifflinburg Telegraph 9/1/2011 and 10/18/2007}; had 4 children:
