David "Ryan" Eder, 67, of Stoddard, Wis., died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at Lakeview Healthcare Center in West Salem, Wis., after an extended illness. He was born March 16, 1942, in Fountain City, Wis., to Russell and Alice (Fried) Eder. He farmed the family homestead until 1962.
On June 15, 1963, David married Nancy Fiedler in Winona. David then went to work in the maintenance department at Gundersen Lutheran for 18 years until ill health forced him to retire. David was a member of Stoddard United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by a daughter, Kristine (Mark) Wells of Sparta, Wis.; four grandchildren, Todd, Ryan, Cole and Colin Wells, all of Sparta; his mother-in-law, Mayme Tschabold of Galesville; a sister-in-law, Carol (Jim) Johnson of Galesville; and several nieces and nephews including Aaron Johnson of Rochester, Minn., Adam (Audra) Johnson of Holmen, Wis., and Austin Johnson of Galesville. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Kevin in 1965 and Todd in 1996.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Stoddard United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Stoddard Cemetery.
