BELMONT, Wis. -- Trina LeAnn Niffenegger, 24, of Belmont, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at home in Belmont, from complications of a boating accident.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29, at Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville, with the Rev. Rom Pegram officiating. Burial will be in the Belmont Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Friends also may call after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
She was born on Jan. 21, 1986, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque, daughter of Jacob "Jake" and Karen (Huggins) Niffenegger. In high school, Trina was an honor student who was involved in softball, musicals, choir, band and dance team.
In college, she was an active member of the Kappa Alpha Sigma sorority as PE and treasurer. She completed her bachelor of science degree in business and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in May 2009.
Trina most recently spent her time working at Land's End in Dodgeville and in the lab at Lactalis in Belmont. Her previous places of employment were Red's Supper Club, Schultzie's Supper Club, Movie Gallery, Don Q Inn and Belmont Travel Center.
Trina enjoyed spending time with her friends at the KAE house and the VFW. More than anything else, she loved spending time with her family, especially her little nephew.
Surviving are her parents, Jake and Karen Niffenegger, of Belmont; two sisters, Tomi (Brandon) Gill, of Belmont, and Tia Niffenegger, of Madison; grandmothers, Leona Huggins, of Belmont, and Joann Kuhnhenn, of Platteville; a nephew, Brady Gill; and aunts and uncles, Cindy and Kevin Balk, of Platteville, Marianee and George Taylor, of Wheatland, Wyo., Heidi and Robin Moody, of Beulah, N.D., and Nichole and Holly Niffenegger, both of Sarasota, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Thomas P. Huggins and Karl "Cubby" Niffenegger; step grandfather, Jack Kuhnhenn; and an aunt, Nancy Lou Huggins.
