Marietta J. Stietz, age 77 of Gratiot, died on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the Monroe Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her family. She was born March 13, 1930, in Dickeyville, to Frank and Anna (Wiegel) Loeffelholz. She married Lavern J. Stietz on Jan. 23, 1960, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gratiot. They farmed in Gratiot Township until retiring in 1994, when they moved to Gratiot. Lavern preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 2001. Marietta was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gratiot. Survivors include her children, Paul and Lori Stietz of Albany, John and Corinne Stietz of Gratiot, Marlene and Chris Tiesling of Appleton, Roger and Deb Stietz of Winslow, Ill., Marie Stietz and Mary Stietz both of Gratiot, Bruce Stietz and Carol Lee of Grayslake, Ill., Bobby and Sue Stietz , and Billy and Judy Stietz both of Gratiot; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren on the way; her brothers and sisters, Modesta (Mrs. Maynard) Winkler of Potosi, Marita Larson of Darlington, Cyrilla (Donald) Wedig of Mineral Point, Camella (George) Wand of Gratiot, Gloria (John) Harwick of Monroe, Fabian (Shirley) Loeffelholz of Darlington, Adrian (Barbara) Loeffelholz of Waunakee, Sally (Mrs. John) Schuetz of Darlington, and Lucy (Richard) Ammon of Monroe; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; twin daughters, Joan and Jane; an infant sister, Mary Elizabeth; her sister, Celine (Mrs. Richard) Byrne; three grandchildren, Eugene, Rick and Leah Stietz; and a daughter-in-law, Traci Kaster Stietz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Gratiot.
