Marita M. Larson, age 84 of Darlington, died Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on September 28, 1934 in Grant County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Wiegel) Loeffelholz. Marita married Robert Larson on October 17, 1955. She lived in rural Darlington for over 60 years, where she raised her family. She owned and operated Cupid’s Creations Bridal Store, JJ’s Variety Store and JJ’s Fireworks. She was a longtime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington.
She is survived by 4 children: Jean (Steve) Geiger, Monroe, Bob (Debi) Larson, Darlington, Judy (Carl) Pielmeier, Darlington, and Jane (Steve Broge) Larson, Monroe; grandchildren: Jeffrey (Stephanie) Geiger, Shannon (Josh) Golackson, Michael Geiger, Christopher (Angela) Larson, Jesse (Serene) Larson, Caleb Larson, Karl (Petra Ahnert) and Kyle Pielmeier. 9 great grandchildren; Siblings: Modesta Winkler, Cyrilla (Donald) Wedig, Camella Wand, Gloria Harwick, Fabian (Shirley) Loeffelholz, Adrian (Barb) Loeffelholz, Sally Schuetz, Lucy Ammon; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband Robert; son, Martin in infancy; sisters: Celine Byrne, Marietta Stietz, and one grandchild.
Private services will be held at a later date. SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home is assisting the family.
