John Alvin DIAZ

Great Falls Tribune (MT) - January 13, 2005 John A. Diaz, 69, of 202 Riverview 4E, a retired semi-truck owner-operator, died of natural causes Tuesday at Peace Hospice. Surviving John are his daughter, Stacey Diaz of Great Falls; stepsons Ron (Julie) Bibler and Bruce Bibler of Great Falls, and Lt. Col. Mark (Becky) Bibler of Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, Roy (Char) Diaz of Great Falls; sisters Dorothy (Bob) Halcro of Cascade and Roberta (David) Johansen of Billings; step-grandchildren Ryan, Joel, Kevin, Brooke and Breann Bibler of Great Falls and Jessica and Kelsey Bibler of Anchorage, AK; grandchildren Savannah, Sonja, Sheyanne, Jonathan and Antonio Heaton of Great Falls; and a great-granddaughter, Shayla Hilton. John was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene, on Feb. 9, 2004; a daughter, Lisa Dillon; his parents and an infant brother. John A. Diaz was born June 24, 1935, in Sidney, Mont., the second of five children born to Jess and Louise Diaz. He met Charlene Bibler in 1971 and they were married Jan. 4, 1977. Together, they owned and operated the Missouri Inn south of Great Falls from 1977 to 1981. From 1981 to 1998, they owned and operated Diaz Trucking. John sold the business and retired in 1998. In retirement, John and Char enjoyed traveling in their fifth wheel trailer with their dog, Duke. Despite the fact that their children and grandchildren attended Montana State University, they remained faithful Grizzlies.
