Phyllis Luvene CALL

Journal-Advocate staff Phyllis Call Bohannan, 79, of Greeley, died Jan. 6, 2011, in the Hospice Unit at North Colorado Medical Center. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Cottonwood Country Club in Torrington, Wyo. She was born Oct. 18, 1931, to George and Mildred Call and spent her childhood in Torrington. On Nov. 5, 1949, she married Thomas G. Bohannan and the two spent a short time in Brawley, Calif., and Swink before moving home to Torrington. They owned and operated a motel in Sterling for 25 years. Mrs. Bohannan enjoyed homemaking, playing cards, volunteer work, reading, socializing, dinner clubs, knitting, travelling, and spending time with her family. She and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before his death. She was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church, Women's organizations, and belonged to the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Mrs. Bohannan is survived by her children, Randy Bohannan and his wife Cynde of Kalispell, Mont., Mindy Correll, Cathy Bohannan, Carol Steward and her husband Dave, and Cindy Bohannan, all of Greeley; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Miriam Brorby and husband Wade of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Florabelle Carroll and husband Sam; and cousin Dave Kellam and wife Jean, all of Torrington. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom; her parents; and her son-in-law, Dan Correll. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Greeley, Deacons' Fund.
