Jack Davis EAKIN

On Aug. 14, 1954, he married Sylvia A. Walsworth in the First United Methodist Church. Jack was a member and an usher of First United Methodist Church. He was a member of Roman Hathaway Lodge 233 F&AM and a past member of the Roman Lodge, and served as the grand steward of the Grand Lodge F&AM from 1987 to 1988. He was also a former member of the Oneida Masonic Association and a past patron of Wanakena Chapter 650 OES. He was past DGL Order of the Eastern Star for the state of New York, a Lodge Chapter Council Consistory and RAAM, a member of the Maple Valley New Hartford Kismet Chapter 217 OES, and Ziyara Shrine of the Utica Flying Fezzes. Jack’s hobby was radio-controlled airplanes, and he was a member of the Society of Antique Modelers. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; a son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Sharon Eakin of Rome; daughter and son-in-law, Susan D. and Dwayne Allain of Virginia; five grandchildren, Heather Allain of Florida, Matthew and Meghan Allain of Virginia, and Nicole and Michelle Eakin of Rome; and a sister, Doris Schroeder of South Bend, Ind. Funeral services were held at the First United Methodist Church of Rome, N.Y. on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at 11 a.m. Interment followed in Rome Cemetery.
