William Francis WADSWORTH

Jan 9, 1938 - Jul 1, 2015 William F. "Bill" Wadsworth, 77, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday, Jul 1, 2015, at his home. He was born Jan 9, 1938, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late F. M. Wadsworth and Peg (Hendricks) Wadsworth. Bill graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1955. He then attended Ohio University and graduated in 1959. In 1963, he received his D.D.S. from The Ohio State University. Bill then served in the U.S. Navy, being discharged as a Lieutenant. He began his internship in 1966 at Children's Hospital in Columbus. After the completion of his residency in pedodontics, he moved to Mansfield and, a year later, opened his practice in 1968. He was still currently seeing patients and served the Mansfield community for over 47 years. Bill is survived by his wife, Caroline A. (Barker) Wadsworth; four children and their spouses, Amy (Todd) Arnold of Mansfield, OH, Robert (Natasha) Wadsworth of New Lebanon, OH, Will (Becky) Wadsworth of Mason, OH, Caroline (Chris Poepping) Wadsworth of Park City, UT; six grandchildren, Maddy Wadsworth, TC Arnold, Grace Wadsworth, Nick Wadsworth, Willy Wadsworth and Lizzy Wadsworth; step granddaughter, Danielle (Tim) Daniels; step great-grandchildren, Serenity and Kayson Daniels; sisters, Suzi Dameron of Centerville, OH and Nancy (Bill) Barker of Valparaiso, IN; sister-in-law, Betty Barker Karol; and nieces and nephews, Rob, John, Scott, Stacy, Cynthia, Steve and Ken. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Wadsworth; and three brothers-in-law, Sam Campbell, Don Dameron and Granville Barker. A Gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, Jul 25, 2015 from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. in First United Methodist Church, 12 N. Diamond St., Mansfield, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Kent Joy will conduct the service. Military honors will be presented by the Richland Joint Veterans Burial Detail in Central Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Salvation Army.
