Veteran - NC Troops - Pvt. in Co. commanded by his brother, Lt. Adoniram; pension certificate #6757 [AL] issued 8 Mar 1833. Last pension payment ended 4 Mar 1842. Served in the battles at Moore's Creek Bridge (1776), Sunbury, Stono where he received a flesh wound in the left arm from a bayonet, and King's Mountain and in several skirmishes. Moved as a child from Elizabethtown, NJ>Surry Co., NC>GA>Davidson Co., TN>Franklin Co., AL. In 1832 he resided just across the line between Franklin Co., and the Chickasaw Nation. Granddaughter Ann LIGHTFOOT owned a newspaper - "The North Alabamian".
