Jens Christian Jessen, geboren 1892 in Jordholm, ging 1913 als landwirtschaftlicher Knecht in Achtrupfeld und Medelby. Er war 163,5 cm. groß und wog 60 kg. Ebenfalls 1913 wurde er als Musketier beim Infanterieregiment Nr. 156 eingezogen und fiel am 24. August 1914 als erster aus dem Kirchspiel Ladelund. Noch 40 weitere wurden Opfer des Krieges.
