[Krug-Grunwald-Tree.GED] Died of kidney failure. Prostrate problem in 1992 which was notdiagnosed as cancer, however, now they think it was cancer that hadspread to the kidneys. Dave was in the Marines and stationed in Saipanin 1945. He was stationed most of the time in Cape Pendelton, Oceanside,CA. He had an operation and his unit went overseas without him; and, hejoined it in 1945. Occ: Giddings & Lewis Co., Fond Du Lac, WI OBITUARY - Fond du Lac Reporter David G. Krug 80, of 289 N. Military Road, died Sunday, August 7, 1994,at ALL About LIfe Rehabilitation Center. He was born on December 21,1913, in the Town of Forest, a son of George and Anna Kinkel Krug. OnSeptember 12, 1936, he married Geraldine M. Scherer at St. Louis Church. Mr. Krug served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and was stationed inthe Pacific Theater. He formerly was employed at Rueping Leather Co.,Miller Brewing Co., and retired from Giddings & Lewis Co. in 1976. He was a member of Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie No. 270, Bohlman-Grimes VFWPost 1904 and American Legion Club of North Fond du Lac. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Shirley Ellis of Racine; threesons Kenneth, Karl and Gary, all of Fond du Lac; four grandsons, Tim,Ellis, Karl Jr., Kurt and Kevin; one great-grandson, Logan Ellis; and two sisters, Verna Grunwald of Livonia, Michigan and Mildred Roy ofRipon, WI. Preceding him in death were his parents, one daughter, Kay [a twin of sonKarl); one brother; and one sister, Josephine Heath. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Uecker-Witt FuneralHome. The Rev. Jerome Wagner will officiate. Committal services will beheld at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Tuesday to the time ofservices. Notice in Fond du Lac Reporter August 9, 1994 Members of VFW Post 1904 will meet at 6:45 p.m. today at Uecker-WittFuneral Home for vistation of David Krug.
