St. Pauls Church Death Record Death date: 3-27-1918 Burial: 3-31-1918 Cause: Altersschwaeche--Old Age Age: 86 years, 6 months, 9 days Survivors: Witwe (widow), 8 Kinder (children), 23 Enkelkinder(grandchildren) Forest Cemetery Record: Heinrich Schmidt 1831 to 1918 wife Henrietta 1842 to 1925 OBITUARY-Commonwealth Reporter, Fond du Lac, WI - Dated: 3-28-1918 PIONEER DIES IN FOREST Henry Schmidt Succumbs at Home of His Son--Funeral to Be Held SundayAfternoon Henry Schmidt, aged 87 years, died at 7 oclock last evening at the home of his son, George W. Schmidt in the Town of Forest. He was born September 18, 1831 in Germany, and came to this country in August 1854, settling in the Town of Forest, where he spent practically all his life. He was married to Henrietta Rosenthal in January, 1861. He was a member of the 14th Wisconsin, during the Civil War. He is survived by his wife; four sons, George W., Henry J., William and Louis J. all of Forest; and four daughters, Mrs. Anna Reitz, Mrs. Louise Loehr, and Mrs. Emma Wagner of Forest, and Mrs. Bertha Tambke of Fond du Lac, WI. The funeral will be held at 1:30 oclock Sunday afternoon at the residence and at 2 oclock at ST. Pauls Lutheran Church, the Rev. Klingbeil officiating. Internment will be in Forest Cemetery. Commonwealth Reporter-Dated: 4-1-1918 The funeral of Henry Schmidt, who died Wednesday evening in the Town of Forest, was held at 1:30 oclock Sunday afternoon at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. George Reitz of Forest, and at 2 oclock at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Rev Klingbeil officiating. Internment was in ForestCemetery. Those acting as bearers were George Reitz, George, Henry and William and Louis Schmidt, and John Loehr.
