[Krug-Grunwald-Tree.GED] OBITUARY-Commonwealth Reporter, Fond du Lac, WI - Dated: 7-13-1973 Raymond D. Matas, 63, of 1773 Hemlock Street, Beloit, died Friday atBeloit Memorial Hospital following a short illness. Born August 9, 1909,in Waterbury, Connecticut, he was the son of Dominick and MarionaMaldonis Matas. He married Loretta Marie Schmidt on October 29, 1932, inFond du Lac County. He had been a resident of Beloit since 1936 where he was employed at theBeloit Corp. since 1939. He had been a member of St. John’s LutheranChurch in Beloit since 1936. He is survived by his widow; one son,Timothy of Beloit; one brother, Peter of Rockford, Illinois; two sisters,Mrs. george Valsilos of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Mrs. Frank Grzonka ofLittle Suamico. He was preceded in death by his parents and twosisters. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. John’sLutheran Church. A commital service will be held at 2:15 p.m. Monday atForest Cemetery, rural Fond du Lac. Visitation will be from2 to 4 p.m.at Overton-Scheonfeld Funeral Home in Beloit and from 1 to 2 p.m. Mondayat St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Town of Forest.
