PFEIFFER--Anne Shultz, 61, died in Manhattan on Sunday, January 12. Born in Aurora, Illinois, Anne is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Shultz, husband, Paul, her two children, Christof and Kirsten, and granddaughter, Lily. She was predeceased by her sister Mary and brother Nick. A graduate of Southern Methodist University and a Certified Public Accountant, Anne worked for nearly 35 years as a member of the J.P. Morgan real estate finance team. When she retired in October, 2013, she was a Managing Director, head of J.P. Morgan's U.S. Real Estate Commingled Funds and Senior Portfolio Manager of the JPMorgan Strategic Property Fund, which grew to become the largest core real estate fund in the U.S. under her leadership. Anne enjoyed acting as a mentor to young women in finance and business. As an industry leader, she served on the boards of REIS (Real Estate Investment Standards) and NCREIF (National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries) and as president of NCREIF for several years. Over the last 20 months, Anne privately fought pancreatic cancer with incredible strength and humility, never allowing the disease to prevent her from living her life. Anne was an accomplished cook and had a passion for travel and art. Her family and friends will remember her for her warmth, generosity, dedication to learning, and whimsical spirit. She was a wonderful mother and an inspiration to those who knew her. Her family is having a small, private funeral ceremony, which will be followed by a celebration of life memorial in New York City at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne's memory may be made to the New York Common Pantry, The Susan B. Anthony Project, or Women For Women International.
