Edward F. Durner
of Johnson Cityformerly of Bronx, N.Y. Edward F. Durner, 94, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 30, 2002, at Hilltop Retirement Community. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Florence (Mills) Durner; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Anne Marie and Raymond Lauenstein, Norwich; Margaret and Gerald Kubasiak, Chicago, Ill., Katherine and Larry Swartzell, St. Louis, Mo., Frances Durner, Anchorage, Alaska; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and a 50 year Parishioner of St. Raymonds Catholic Church, Bronx, N.Y., the Secretary Treasure of Tobacco Leaf Publishing Co. A graduate of Regis High School Class of 1925 and Fordham University Class of 1929 and was his Class Agent. An accomplished lawn bowler for 30 years, winning many distinguished awards. Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at St. James Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the St. James Middle School Library, 143 Main St., Johnson City, N.Y. 13790 in Edward F. Durner's memory.
